Amanda McIntyre, MFA, BSN, RN

Amanda McIntyre, MFA, BSN, RN, is an oncology and clinical trials nurse, artist, and healthcare innovator whose work explores the intersection of immersive technology, clinical care, and the lived experience of illness. With a background in fine arts and work published in Contemporary Ceramics, as well as experience on the founding teams of venture-backed biotech startups, she brings a uniquely interdisciplinary lens to XR in healthcare. Her current scholarly work explores immersive virtual reality as a nurse-led, non-pharmacologic intervention for pain and anxiety in oncology care, with a focus on how emerging technologies can be integrated into practice in ways that are evidence-based, compassionate, and truly workable at the bedside.
