Ruoya Sheng

Ruoya Sheng is a Product Lead at ByteDance PICO, driving the development of Spatial Web technologies to help bridge traditional 2D GUI application developers into the XR domain. She also leads AI applications in XR, spearheading research in Spatial ML.

Prior to PICO, Ruoya worked at Meta Reality Labs, where she spent five years leading cross-functional teams in developing AI-driven XR features. She played a key role in launching AI-powered products across Meta’s platforms, optimizing AR application performance, and significantly improving XR software stability.

Before joining Meta, Ruoya was a Technical AI Product Manager at ObEN Inc., where she led research and development teams in building AI-driven voice and avatar technologies. She managed the development of Text-to-Speech (TTS), Face Tracking, and Voice Conversion SDKs—successfully delivering AI-powered solutions to major partners including Tencent, SoftBank, and SM Entertainment.

Ruoya holds dual degrees in Computer Science and Finance from the University of Southern California. With deep expertise in AI and XR, she is passionate about building intelligent, immersive experiences that push the boundaries of spatial computing.
