Virginie Maillard has headed the global research in Simulationand Digital Twin within Siemens Foundational Technologies since June 2018. She worksat the R&D office of Princeton, NJ, and leads teams in Germany, India andChina. She also has been responsible for the entire scope of research ofSiemens the United States.

Maillardearned her engineer and MSc degrees in mechanical engineering from the NationalInstitute of Applied Sciences of Lyon (INSA Lyon) in France. Before joiningSiemens, Maillard worked for the automobile manufacturer Renault, most recentlyas head of corporate research and research strategy. Since 2017, Maillard hasbeen the president of the Scientific Advisory Board of IMT (InstituteMines-Telecom) in Paris, the biggest group ofgraduate engineering schools in France. In February 2025, Maillard was namedchair of the R&D Council of New Jersey board of directors, an organizationdedicated to advance collaboration among research institutions and strengthenSTEM education initiatives.
