Stanford University
Neuroscientist Medical Technology Developer

Hello. I am a neuroscientist and medical technology developer. With over thirty years of experience developing innovative clinical products in digital medicine and medical virtual reality, I am considered a leading expert in the field.

My research has been funded by the NIMH, NIH, and NASA. I served as the Director of the Mind Division at the Stanford Center on Longevity, where I focused on age-related changes in cognition. Subsequently, as Chief Science Officer at Pear Therapeutics, I helped develop the first digital health product to be approved by the FDA as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).Currently, I develop virtual reality systems designed to evaluate and treat a spectrum of clinical conditions, including post-traumatic stress and anxiety disorders, stroke, addiction, autism, depression, and other complex challenges in behavioral and physical medicine.I serve as an advisor to Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab, the Stanford Wearable Electronics (eWear) Program, the Virtual Reality & Immersive Technology (VR-IT) Clinic, and the Stanford Medical Mixed Reality Center.

In addition to my work at Stanford, I also advise several early-stage medical product companies and investment groups on technology and neuroscience.
