Monica Arés builds learning ecosystems at the intersection of AI and spatial computing to increase access to education and fundamentally transform the way we learn with emerging technology. She made a deliberate decision to understand this challenge from every angle, starting as an educator in the classroom, an experience that shaped how she thinks about technology and who it serves.
From there she moved into building and scaling the technology itself: learning platform systems at Amazon, a $150M immersive learning ecosystem at Meta, and AI-native learning systems at Microsoft, all in collaboration with global education partners. In between, she served as Executive Director of the IDEA Lab at Imperial College London, where she led innovation.
This cross-sector experience shapes Monica’s central thesis: for years the industry has been building powerful solutions in separate pieces. The convergence now possible through AI and spatial computing is what will unlock what learning was always meant to be. Monica holds a Master’s in Education from Harvard University and has been named one of the Top 100 Global Women of the Future in Emerging Technology.
